Navajo Nation

Don't forget to check out the info on our Main COVID page!
COVID GENERAL INFO
As of July 20th, Florida is now the epicenter of the world. We hope that things get better in Florida and across the nation and have donated our own personal time and money to fighting COVID, but as we cannot donate to every organization we still believe it's important to focus on Navajo Nation as it is disproportionately underprepared economically without the necessary resources to fight off COVID, so the urgency still stands!

Navajo Nation and COVID-19

As of July 20th, Florida is now the epicenter of the world. We hope that things get better in Florida and across the nation and have donated our own personal time and money to fighting COVID, but as we cannot donate to every organization we still believe it's important to focus on Navajo Nation as it is disproportionately underprepared economically without the necessary resources to fight off COVID, so the urgency still stands!

"**UPDATE SINCE THIS RESEARCH&POST: 3 of the top 5 tribes with the highest rates of COVID-19 are Pueblo; white mtn apache are #1 & NN are #4 in the country. I will be providing mutual aid resources for these communities on the action doc as I find and receive them, and begin to allocate funding to them as well!! NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO SLOW DOWN. This post is mainly directed to non-Black, non-Native, non-Black Native folx who have not engaged or donated, or maybe have posted or donated once.
Please, if you are financially capable at this time, consider donating to any of these funds. Just because you haven’t heard of this, or maybe posting about this has died down on your feed, doesn’t mean things are improving. In fact, over the past week, they’ve been getting worse.
For quick and easy donations, Paypal.me/KinsaleHueston and/or Venmo @KinsaleHueston any amount. I distribute all funds to the Diné and Hopi mutual aid funds in the action doc in my bio. I also will be allocating funds for the White Mountain Apache GoFundMes. For a shipping address for physical supplies, see the action doc. (I had to watermark these slides because certain non-BIPOC celebrities were reposting incomplete slides, not mentioning the action doc, not providing all of the funds, etc omg)
I’m cleaning up my feed to make space for others; this is a consolidated post of updates & funds as I add more/find more/the situation becomes more fleshed out.
Side note: I’ve been in contact with the organizers behind Dzil Asdzáán Command Center, ADABI Healing Shelter, Dennehotso, NavajoStrong, Navajo Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief (there are a lot of people here involved & doing great work), Hopi Relief, and a few others so if you have any questions or would like to reach out, feel free to do so."

Support Indigenous Communities

"
when amplifying marginalized voices within society, it’s super important to remember that indigenous communities are often neglected in important conversations, especially when it comes to representation and brand support within the beauty industry! so, as an avid lover of skincare and makeup myself, i thought it would be great to share some indigenous owned skincare and cosmetics brands to check out that you may have not otherwise heard of (and that i will definitely be trying soon!) ✨ let’s support black and indigenous people of color (BIPOC) and give them the credit they deserve! ✊🏽 share your favorite indigenous owned brands (not just cosmetics - clothes, sports, jewelry, household items, ANYTHING) in the comments below! ☺️
